Professional Experience

My current role is Programs and Exhibits Manager at the Charlotte Museum of History.

Current Position

Programs and Exhibits Manager, Charlotte Museum of History

As Programs and Exhibits Manager at the Charlotte Museum of History, I oversee all adult public programs and exhibits for the Museum. This responsibility includes planning signature events such as the annual African American Heritage Festival and Twelfth Night Celebration, interpreting the 1774 Homesite, restoring a 1920s Rosenwald-era schoolhouse, curating temporary and permanent displays in the museum galleries, and more.

In almost two years at the Museum, I have planned the best-attended African American Heritage Festival in CMH history, managed the transition to a new website and ticketing system, helped to secure exhibit partnerships with the Charlotte Hornets and National Negro Opera Company, led an effort to re-survey the 1774 Homesite for evidence of enslaved people, upgraded the Museum’s hybrid meeting capabilities, and led a push for more effective marketing and data analysis at the Museum.

I have held the position of Exhibits and Programs Manager since January 2023. I held the position of Adult Education Specialist at the Charlotte Museum of History between May and December 2022.

About the Charlotte Museum of History

The Charlotte Museum of History, in Charlotte, North Carolina, exists to save and share the history of the Queen City. While most museums in Charlotte are in the bustling city center, the Charlotte Museum of History is unique for its 7.5 acre campus on the 1774 Hezekiah Alexander Homesite – site of the oldest standing home in Mecklenburg County, NC and three historic outbuildings. In addition to the historic homesite, the Museum opened in 1999 to more fully tell the story of Charlotte’s role in the American Revolution and beyond.
